A fun mystery with a Scooby Doo vibe! Appropriate for middle grade on up!
THE SPIRICOM by Roslyn Reid is a fun mystery with a Scooby Doo vibe, minus the dog.
I emerged myself in the setting of the mountains in small town Maine from the very beginning. Once I got through the inciting tragedy, I fell in love with Detective Early the protagonist and his client Dr. Spenser Py. I enjoyed journeying with them on their investigation and felt like I was right there with them trying to put all the puzzle pieces together to solve a mysterious crime.
The supporting characters were full of cute quirkiness, which added to the overall feel-good tone of the book. The story was a light, suspenseful, and fun read with a satisfying ending. I loved the Afterword, which gave this piece of fiction some added substance and had me questioning some intriguing scientific what ifs about the possibility of communicating with the afterlife. I recommend THE SPIRICOM for anyone who likes a good who-dunnit story.
You can find THE SPIRICOM on Amazon along with Reid's other mystery books in the Early series.
